The coach departs the Central Coast & travels along the old Convict Trail which is the name for the convict built Great North Road, the surrounding land and historic buildings.
We stop at the picturesque Mangrove Creek Dam to enjoy morning tea then continue our journey via Laguna to Wollombi. You will see some of the convict built remains such as stone retaining walls, pick dressed cuttings, culverts & bridges along the way.
Upon our arrival in Wollombi, we will visit Wollombi Wines & you will have the opportunity to taste & purchase their wines & enjoy the scenery.
Following this, we will visit Mulla Villa, a convict built 1840's homestead located on 75 acres. We will be taken on a guided tour of the original homestead of the first Magistrate of Wollombi, convict cells and the original sandstone of the Great North Road where the horse drawn tracks are still to be seen. A 2 course lunch will be provided by the venue & will be enjoyed in the oldest section of Mulla Villa, which dates back to the 1830's and built prior to the main homestead.
