Ferry to Manly & Guided Tour of Quarantine Station

After enjoying a quick bite to eat for lunch, your Connect Coaches driver will drop you & your guide at Circular Quay. Here you will catch a ferry to Manly where you will be met by your driver who will drive you up to North Head where the Q Station is located.

For over 150 years the Quarantine Station was for many, the beginning of a new life in Australia after making the arduous & lengthy journey from their homelands. Ships suspected of harbouring people infected with contagious disease such as Spanish Influenza, Smallpox or Bubonic Plague were quarantined here so that these deadly diseases would not reach the general population in Sydney.

The Wharf Precinct is the most significant place to understand the arrival and daily operations of residents at the Quarantine Station. On this 1 hour "Wharf Wander" guided tour, you'll explore the heritage buildings of the wharf & hospital precinct and discover the stories of what the former quarantined adults & children endured through the 19th and 20th centuries.

Following the tour, passengers will be taken to Manly Beach where they will have time to purchase an early dinner from one of the many eateries along The Corso before returning to the Central Coast.

Please note; attendees must be mobile and wear comfortable walking shoes as the tour includes a few stairs, inclines and declines.
